How hard would it be to build a new ABM?

His website and marketing seems terrible. Is he “successful” because he’s connected with big donors?

I thought I’ve read some donors weren’t happy with how it was ran.

Could we turn TPB into something special for recruits?

Are there any hot NU student that we could connect with FB players to set up an Onlyfans where they make money to bang on webcam? This seems like it would benefit everyone..

Lembrecht with Bruening also as a resource is a tough horse to break. They’ve got the connections to most every booster that wants in on NIL and the coaches within the walls funnel players to them. It’s a huge uphill battle as in business, networking and connecting with centers of influence is huge.

I’m not saying it can’t be done, but a competitor entering this space would have to accept being number 2 for quite awhile until the quality of work demonstrates it’s better.

I guess the only niche we can exploit to overcome Frost’s best friend, is to find a bunch of Amanda Daniels hotties to rep it. Probably need to make sure they’re lesbians so they don’t sleep with the clientele.5E08BAEC-95DB-4199-8ABE-D193A73BDD00.pngB868B359-7D17-4AAF-8CFB-791D7FE3B8E5.gif5C5470B2-0D2C-4B01-97D6-EE7192F142B1.gif

Post these more often and alert my attention to them when yo do.

Gerrod seems to always be dressed like an 11 year old in the sense that his clothes never fit quite right, he’s wearing tennis shoes with his dress pants, and he’s always slouched over. He doesn’t exactly fill the room with confidence when he’s in it.

It’s Frost’s best friends… good luck getting any sort or referral.

Gerrod and Jon B are just on the money train with no work required and minimal effort given.

Husker athletics has truly turned into an incest laden mob squad.
Wasn't ABM set up as a way to take care of Gerod after Turd told him to get the fook out of the AD?

Would've been fine if they brought someone on board with any sort of experience in marketing, branding, or business development outside of senior care supply chain.

But hey, if any of our players want to run for office or partner with a bedpan manufacturer then we've got the perfect people in place.

In all fairness, none of us know how good of a job they are doing. It’s also fair to say that some of the checks these kids are cashing aren’t any of our business. We’re basically asking to see their paychecks.

Having said that, it is 100% a missed opportunity if they’re doing well and nobody knows they are doing well.

I view NIL similar to cryptocurrency. It'll survive as long as there is enough collective delusion, but it's not really worth investing in long term

Would it be fair to say that the results thus far speak for themselves? Can anyone name something that would be considered a big NIL deal from any of our football players?

Gerrod sounds like a leech on the back of Frost’s ass, if you can get the backing of certain % of the booster $$$, I bet you could offer an alternative that players will want as long as someone has a functioning brain. I imagine Osborne has a strangle-hold on booster $$$ tho, don’t know squat on that info

So you bring up what my gripe is.

The answer to your question is no. But just because we don’t know of any, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. With that being said, and as much as we hear people like Dean say “A lot of X-school’s NIL stuff is a marketing ploy” if we aren’t hearing things from our side, we are missing huge opportunities.

Anyone know where Corch Money Team is at now that he’s gone from USC? Would be a perfect gig for a guy like him.

I get the vibe we don’t have the robust NIL market we were lead to believe and that those involved are largely incompetent.

Still early though I guess.
I don’t think anyone thought we had a massive market in terms of sheer money.

The timing was bad because a lot of the money our big time donors and businesses allocate towards Husker athletics had already been committed to our facilities upgrade.

What is disappointing is that we were lead to believe that even if we don’t have the NIL cash flow of a Texas, Alabama, Georgia, etc., we were going to set up an infrastructure to get the absolute most out of what we have. And that does not seem to be the case, at least from the outside looking in.

One thing that gives me pause that has been brought up is: What if we have guys making big money on NIL but they have been told to not “flaunt it” or publicly report dollar amounts? There are lots of reasons a player would want to keep that quiet.

It’s similar to winning the lottery and not wanting everyone and their mom to know about it. If you win the lottery, that is the first thing your financial advisor will tell you. If people know you have money, they’re gonna ask for money. And they will blackmail/extort you to get it.

“Hey, you made $120,000 in NIL last year. Could you help me out and pay off my credit card? I had some bad luck and racked up $9,000 in debt. I’ve always been one of your best friends and I took the fall for you when we got pulled over with a baggie of pot in the car. $9,000 is nothing for you, and you owe me.”

“Hey, it’s Ashley, I’m pregnant and it’s yours. I don’t want your dumb ass anywhere near my child, but since you made 6 figures tweeting about Runza last year, I’m gonna milk every last dollar in child support from you.”

“Hey moneybags, it’s Tiffany. Remember that completely consensual sex we had last weekend? Since I saw you on Instagram with your arm around another coed, I got jealous and I am now considering it sexual assault. If you pay me $10,000 from your NIL fund, I’ll keep quiet.”

As I understand it, part of ABM is focused on educating young athletes on how to responsibly manage their new windfall. Basic financial advising. I would almost guarantee this is part of the “Financial Education” facet of ABM.

I get all that. If I was a 19 year old kid who just made $120,000 for tweeting about Hausmann Construction, I wouldn’t tell a soul.

On the flip side of that, it makes it harder to tell recruits “hey look at how much money you can make if you play here.” The kids may be 17, but they aren’t dumb. They want proof.

My guess? Our NIL numbers are better than we think, but worse than originally expected against the field.

NIL has to be working at some level..transfer portal seems to have been good to Nebraska
It was rumored a couple boosters might have stepped up to the plate with their checkbooks for Thompson.

I think the concern that most have is we are hearing that Boosters can't stand working with Gerrod/ABM. I have multiple sources who have not shed a good light on dealing with ABM. And in a couple cases they just got so frustrated that they said "Fuck It" and put their check books away. One was a booster who was going to write a check to off set some a of Frost's Buyout but then when that group of Boosters was out powered he put away his checkbook to the university but was still going to help with NIL money to the players. He was funneled to ABM and after a while just got so frustrated with dealing with Gerrod he put his checkbook away.

I know we have limited resources due to our size but when I hear this stuff like this repeatedly it makes me realize that we are peeing down our leg over and over again. Get rid of the inbred crap we do within our Athletic Department and lets just hire the best people possible instead of trying to take care of friends and family.
