Nebrasketball vs Wisconsin

Bumping this thread...because Fred and the boys are on a roll.
They CAN beat Rutgers Tuesday. Rutgers is brutal offensively but they know how to make the game miserable to watch. Keisei again will be the difference-maker. He is honestly top-tier when it comes to his movement on the offensive end... and he's playing with a helluva lot of confidence.

I love your positivity but we gotta remember this is a road game against a Top 25 team and we only have 2 days to prep for them. I am amazed at how well Sam Hoiberg has played. He has been a valuable sub for us. Might be undersized at 6-0 but not afraid of physical play plus hustles while not making dumb mistakes. Guess it does help understanding the game when you grow up with a dad who played plus coaches basketball.

I also like what I saw with Walker & Blaise on the floor at the same time. Blaise pulled down 11 boards while being physical in the middle. Frees up Walker from having to cover larger post players. My biggest concern is will this clog the middle for Walker with his dribble drive on offense? It has been a thing of beauty watching Walker pass the last few games. Keisei cutting like a mad man and Walker hitting him with the dime for the layup.

Completely agree, haha. That's why I was saying they CAN win. It's a winnable game, and actually one of the road environments that we have actually played well at, surprisingly.

You can definitely tell Sam Hoiberg is the son of a coach. Dude plays with no fear, either, and has a really good looking shot.

I can't shake the feeling that this team will have a pretty significant upset before the season is over...maybe Rutgers, maybe MSU at home.

How many wins to we need to get into the NIT? Our NET ranking as been hovering around 100 for a while.

Can't remember if it was in an interview or an article but Sam talked about learning to not being afraid of shooting. Last year on the Scout team part of his duties were to chuck up shots when they were trying to mirror players on our upcoming opposition. He was forced to take lots of bad shots or shots he wouldn't normally take. Taught him he could make shots he didn't have the confidence in before. Said if he wasn't chucking in practice he wasn't helping the team prepare. I'd never thought of that aspect of being on the Scout Team in hoops.

Fuck the NET ranking if we’re being honest. Ohio State was in the top 25 in the NET for quite awhile (and they’re bad)

Yeah, I also noticed this morning in one of the RPI's that South Dakota State was ranked higher than us.....by quite a few spots. I don't quite buy that they'd beat us 6 out of 10 times if we played.
