Not to be Debbie Downer, but as bad as MSU shot in 1st half, we really should be up more. MSU also not playing particularly tough D. We could honestly be up 20 if we limited the TOs and bad possessions. As it is, MSU will make their run and the game will be tied at some point in 2nd half - then will be up to us to see how we respond.

But we honestly should be up 25 right now. That might have been the worst half MSU played all year and they're only down 12.

A couple of dumb mistakes and a scramble 3 is the only thing I’m too upset about.

Come out and win the first 4 minutes here and you’ll be fine.

MSU won’t shoot this bad all game though.

MSU is going to make a run and NU needs to weather that. Keep up the intensity on defense and make your goddman FTs.

we might have limited weapons on offense but defense is all about effort. This team plays hard on defense and efficient on offense. Hypothetically if we beat MSU & Cockeye I wonder if Hoiberg will get votes for B1G Coach of the Year? Gotta believe NW Coach gonna hoist that trophy but pretty amazing what Hoiberg has done with all of the adversity and injuries.

It's amazing to see the players get hyped up on effort plays that result in fouls or in the possession arrow in our favor.

If you go through the 1st half possessions, we had a lot of bad possessions. Yes we shot 57% but we also didn't shoot enough bc of the bad possessions. Could have easily been up 20 instead of 12 at HT. Maybe not 25, I'll give you that.

In the end, probably irrelevant bc we knew MSU was gonna make their run to tie it up anyway. 20 at HT forces them to work that much harder. 12 at HT is pretty doable.

I will say this, I expected it to be tied at the 10:00 mark so the fact that we have any lead (56-51) is a pleasant surprise. This will be nut cutting time in the home stretch anyway.
