Why go from Dayton to San Fran? Seems like a step down. Was he not going to start at Dayton?

San Fran definitely a step down from the Power5 offers he had. The only reason I have seen for Mike selecting San Fran is the large Mongol population. Maybe he was homesick. Haven't been to Mongolia but gotta believe it is a bit different than the states. If his dream is to play in the NBA then I don't think San Fran is the best choice. If I was an NBA GM and saw that I would be questioning his decision to drop down a level of competition just to be closer to people he feels more comfortable with. In his defense the Dons do chuck the 3's at a very high pace. They shot over 50% more 3's than Free Throws. Bummed he isn't N because I think he would have been great as a Point Forward in Hoiberg's offense. Dalano Bantano with a better outside shot.

San Fran is a sh*t hole, but it’s still Cali. Can sell location, as well as recent success as they were just in the tourney two years ago. The WCC isn’t great, but you still play Gonzaga and St Mary’s, which that alone makes it light years better than the A10. If he balls out in San Fran, he’ll get drafted.

We lose out on big fish because we have no post season success and no real indication of that changing, plain and simple. Its easy to recruit against.

I agree about the douche part, but the guy is a pass-first guard...I think he'd fit in well.

My big gripe about the pass first part is that he only average less than 4 assists a game for his career. His best year was his junior year and it was only 5.3 assists a game. I'd take that number a lot quicker if he was adding 10+ ppg. He just barely hit 9 that year though.
