We call time out and then come back with that. Brice with 3 people in his face, not a great way to end the game. He about blew in the possession before as well and got bailed out with a call.

Tbf it was Brice's game for the most part.

This L doesnt sting all that bad. Team looked better than I thought they would against the competition.

Tough draw next week, hope we beat the Pickle Smoochers

Great game to attend. Sounds like some people on the X machine think this is Saint Mary’s most talented team in some time. We’ll see what that translates to the rest of the season as I was very impressed with them. That freshman off the bench is a killer, and the whole team seemed to be able to silence any sort of run Nebraska wanted to make.

Hopefully we see more games like that from Berke moving forward. He is a character who has some antics to him, but the dude can shoot the piss out of the ball (watching in warmups) so it better translate to real game time action here shortly. If so, he’ll be a real problem for teams.

If Brice doesn't get that fourth foul we probably win this game. Without him on the court we really struggle to score. All things considered, it was a good performance. We need more out of Juwan offensively. He was pretty poor today. I'm afraid we are too limited offensively to mount any sort of challenge to Pickle Smoochers.

If your Nebraska you need to win the CU game, otherwise your non con is so bad it’s going to severely limit you even if we have an average year in big ten play. That’s why this was so important to win, a good team on a neutral floor is a big boost for the resume

Not really, it would obviously be a great win but not make or break. Last year we only had one good non-con win against KsU and lost all of the other important games. Big 10 Is looking good in non-con and will have plenty of opportunities to build a resume in the conference. Key is just not to have any bad losses in Quad 3 and 4, which was huge for our NET a year ago.

We also barely wound up making the field last year. Being a double digit seed at large team puts you in a precarious position.

The hope with scheduling the sub-300 KenPom/NET rated teams is you just beat the piss out of them. NET factors in margin of victory so its better to overperform against a terrible team than beat say a team rated 120 by the expected margin (or lose). Instead we’ve been eeking out wins against bad teams which will hurt in the long run.

We really need to be in a better MTE going forward for scheduling purposes. The Diamond Head Classic field is BAD. We play Murray State to open (KenPom 91) and then play either the winner/loser of Charlotte (135) or Hawaii (177). If we make it to the title game you pray we play Loyola Chicago (83). For comparison purposes, we are KenPom’s 66th rated team and Saint Mary’s would’ve been a very solidly Q1 win for us with their KenPom of 42.

Winning @ Pickle Smoochers on Friday (18) would be a major major boost to our resume. Losing that game and then not winning the Diamond Head Classic would put us in a terrible spot going into conference play for an at large bid. Yesterday was a huge missed opportunity for us despite playing our best game of the season.

Don’t disagree with any of that. Just don’t think Pickle Smoochers is a must win game. Sure as hell would be nice, but not going to make or break tourney chances. Plenty of opportunities ahead.
