Agreed the officiating was poor, but if Brice just makes the free throw most of the terrible/missed calls don't even exist. It was not stolen from them. They've had opportunities and didn't execute. Multiple times all year. If they miss the tourney they have no one to blame but themselves.
I agree with most of what you said. However, I refuse to blame Brice for losing the game over a missed free throw. Yea it was at an in opportune time. However, Brice and Gary are pretty much our only consistent players.

I'm not blaming Brice. He was the only reason we were in the game (and every game this season). I'm just saying the opportunities were there. And in this game in particular, they were there before most of the referee debacle occurred sans the Flagrant 1 call.

True, but some of the missed calls are inexcusable. The two KNOWN technicals are two free throws + possession, right? Royal’s ball spike would have led to probably two made free throws by Brice, plus the ball, up 1 with 1:00 to go in the second OT. Not to mention, Royal, again and common theme with this game, got away with a hook and hold on Morgan in the second OT. This one isn’t talked about enough, but it is there.

Should have won, yes, but not only were the missed calls are so blatantly bad/poor, they came at pivotal moments of the game. Brice’s F1 had no reason to even be reviewed. Royal (again) had to come up the court like he just got shot, and Diebler had to whine and beg Kelly to go and review it. They also officiated Royal like he’s some superstar and almost got every call his way when he drove the basketball. Brice? Nah. Didn’t even get a clear and obvious and one before half that would have slowed down Ohio State’s transition 3 before half.

I’m sorry, I am tired of being on the wrong side of pivotal calls.

Brice missing that free throw at the end of regulation was brutal, no doubt. But with 7-8 seconds still on the clock, making it wouldn’t have guaranteed a win. Given how that game was officiated—and the fact that Ohio State attempted 44 free throws—it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t have been handed another trip to the line for a chance to win it anyway.

I mean the guy made a ton of free throws...the fact that he missed that one is the only reason it seems like he let everyone down. Nobody's going to be 100% from the line. He was dang close.

Both can be true. Yes, we had our chances. But yes, we also got fucked over hard. This ridiculous BIG officiating shouldn't be given a pass because we had other opportunities.
