NU has been really competitive with most everyone they’ve played despite falling short. Stylistically this matchup is interesting, I think NU can win big but certainly not a given

Clever way to make sure you are 100% correct regardless of the outcome.

I assumed the @ Minnesota game would be our first loss (we never win there), but this -5.5 line got my attention.

It might come today. I'm actually thinking that a split in the MN/NW road games is a result I would take.

Hell yes—winning 3–4 games on the road to start B1G play would be outstanding. Sure, you’re disappointed any time you drop a game, but anyone who actually watches college basketball knows how brutal it is to win on the road in conference play—let alone take 3 of your first 4.

It’s going to be a bit of a “manufacture your own energy” type of day. Hopefully we’re not looking past these guys.

The one thing helping us I think is our spurtability. Northwestern is not a tremendous three point shooting team - if we can get the lead out to double digits and pick the pace up a bit I don’t think they have the firepower to come back on us. They may be able to muck it up for a bit however and they do have the leading scorer in the conference so its not like they are completely going to roll over helplessly

Eye test on the Illinois @ Northwestern game a couple days ago told me we are significantly better than both teams.

Yeah I'm not joking. I don't see it with Illinois. Northwestern was in that game and neither looked like they should be able to run with us.

Obviously anynody can get hot and beat us, but man. What a team we have.
