I can't call teams like UCLA good at defense.

They are good at killing freedom of movement and creating choppy low scoring games with no flow. But, that's not being good at defense.

If we came close to officiating the rules like the are supposed to they wouldn't be able to play like this.

I'll be honest I absolutely hated college basketball for the two years where they called a fucking foul every time a defender breathed too hard on the guy with the ball.

That's not the problem and they don't need to do that again. It's all the bullshit grabbing and shoving of guys trying to cut and run off screens on offense.

And the backcourt "pressing" which is a lot of hand checking and shoving and doesn't make the game any better for anyone.

Fair enough. We definitely need a good old fashioned middle ground.

I’d agree with you. I’d also say that I’m really getting tired of the flopping. UCLA and Indiana are great at it.

Look at how we play defense. We are actually a good defensive team.

We use rotation, switches, traps, and effort. We create a lot of cross court turnovers because I don't think teams are used to playing against real defense.
I don't usually indulge in pointless what ifs but can you imagine last year if we'd had the post play we have this year? Ah well.
