What about Essegian?

I think I'd still like a true PG but they're like linemen in the portal, everyone wants em. But I do think if Sandfort makes a small jump similar to his brother and Mast comes back 100%, that's a lineup with enough bench to get to the dance. Will they? We shall see, but it's not as far off as I expected.

I know the biggest concern is replacing Williams, but I'm not opposed to a lineup with 4 or 5 guys averaging 10-15 ppg as opposed to one guy averaging 18-20 and the rest at 5-9.

I had Essegian as the 6th man coming off the bench. I think it's good to have energy and scoring come off the bench. Love Essegian in that role. Similarly, I'd like to put Lawrence in at PG and move Hoiberg to the bench. But Jamarques was pretty good coming off the bench too.

I was thinking about that this morning. It’s honesty kind of crazy that Dannen or any prior AD hasn’t been like “let’s pour everything we can to finally get a tournament win”

With our Omaha boosters giving millions to Pickle Smoochers’s NIL I just don’t think we have the booster base to support much more. Football has to be maxing out our booster base as is and is probably the focus. Pickle Smoochers is supporting men’s bball, women’s bball and now women’s volleyball at a high clip.

Fred is leaning into this as it pays dividends with the fan base. I got blow back for saying we shouldn’t have Cale on the floor if we want to go to the tourney and win and got the pancake crowd riled up. Nebraskans love these stories and it takes focus off of the tourney goals. Another good effort, understands the culture guy. Haven’t watched his film but just going by other comments.

I think there is a fair chance that Berke still enters the portal.

I dont necessarily think the portal...but I do think there is a decent chance he ends up back over seas playing in a pro league.
