Nebrasketball 2025-26 Season Notes

Lawerence was a priority to get back based on fit but tons of players at the same level as him in the portal. Still happy he is back but talking about our 12-2 start is a wash. Super easy non conference. St. Mary’s was good, Pickle Smoochers wasn’t playing great early in the year and UCLA ended the season with pretty close to the same record as us. Last years team was a group of misfits. Hopefully it goes better this year with some shooters.

Rollie Wooster definitely WAS NOT an upgrade over JLaw.

No, 12-2 isn't a wash when someone says "I started to believe it until the season started." How the season started couldn't of been scripted better, outside of a 13-1/14-0 start. We took care of the easy OOC schedule (10-1), as we should have.

Pickle Smoochers was 5-0 when we played, including a win over top 15 Purdue. They lost 2 straight after us then won 2 straight, including #1 Kansas. To say they weren't playing great is an attempt to recreate what actually happened.

UCLA finished 4-3, we finished 1-6. In no universe is that "pretty close to the same record". Without double checking, a 4-3 finish likely has Nebraska dancing. Maybe you crossed them up with USC (2-5).

I personally didn’t believe even at 12-2 we were still great. The out of conference was easy. Also Pickle Smoochers beating Purdue in an exhibition game for charity isn’t something super crazy Pickle Smoochers and KU were both not as good as they have been in previous years. UCLA was 23-11 and we were 21-14. Not that far off. It was pretty obvious early in the season to me that team didn’t jive well together. Once our defensive scheme was exposed we didn’t have a lot left.

In the last 7, UCLA was 4-3 & Nebraska was 1-6. That isn't the same, but maybe your finish comment had to do with overall records while i was clear l7. Lol

I'm well aware of the sketchy defensive scheme and mentioned it during the 2024 season. Fran expanded the fraud in Ioa City this season & we couldn't recover. Let's see if Loesner has a counter this season.
