Hopefully a couple guys that can play significant minutes at the tackle spots.Wonder how many of these OL are takes based on who they could possibly end up with
Based on that list, we want to upgrade Luto and Sledge but MUST upgrade Knutson.Hopefully a couple guys that can play significant minutes at the tackle spots.
We have Corcoran that is often injured and should have been moved inside years ago, Prochazka that needs to be rebuilt like the 6 million dollar man, and the youngsters who a couple have looked good but still might be a year or two away from Big Ten play.
And a center.
Next year off the last depth chart -
LT Gottula So
LG Evans Jr
C Sledge So
RG Luto Sr
RT Knutson So
What’s wrong with Sledge?Based on that list, we want to upgrade Luto and Sledge but MUST upgrade Knutson.
He’s fine. We’ve heard the staff likes him. And he got 41 snaps last year. I don’t think the staff is ready to turn over the center spot to him next year though. They want him to have more game experience before he becomes the starter. I imagine their goal is to rotate him on the IOL this year and be like the 6th OL. I could also see him take over the RG spot from Luto. Maybe Evans moves back to C and Sledge at LG.What’s wrong with Sledge?
He was basing the list on the published Depth Chart. Why not Brix as an option?
We have a lot of good guys like Brix but they are only going to be redshirt freshman and sophomores. I don't think the staff would want to have the most important positions on the OL be manned by so many young guys if they can help it.He was basing the list on the published Depth Chart.
Brix does need some more conditioning though. Coaches spend too much time publicly talking about him for him to be good right now. They use that air time to talk about players who need mental boosts or they want in the portal.
At a certain point you’ve got to let those young guys play or theyll leave. We have a lot of good guys like Brix but they are only going to be redshirt freshman and sophomores. I’d like to see Evans move to C and Corcoran take a G spot. Then go get 1-2 Ts and another G.Based on that list, we want to upgrade Luto and Sledge but MUST upgrade Knutson.
I understand what you're saying but I don't think the coaches want to have an OL where the starting LT and C are Sophomores (Gottula, Sledge) and the starting RT is a Redshirt Freshman (Brix) for instance. Do we need these guys to get some snaps of course but for Big Ten play I think we are going to need some older guys to fill in the gaps.At a certain point you’ve got to let those young guys play or theyll leave.
That’s the bad thing about the portal. People will keep dipping back once someone leaves because they need someone with experience that’s ready now and you’ll develop your own players.
You’ll have to be more specificIs Mr. Suck my dick done?
Mazzcua (i didn't want to try and spell it or look it up). You’ll have to be more specific
Yeah he was a senior.Mazzcua (i didn't want to try and spell it or look it up).
I just hope we never have to watch Corcoran play OT ever again.Hopefully a couple guys that can play significant minutes at the tackle spots.
