I guess we will see on White. He has lost a bit of luster this year and probably won’t have the same type of opportunities that he had a year ago for coaching positions. I think if the rumors of him not getting along with Butler and all not well with Rhule are true he will look to leave.

He wont have the same type of opportunities he had after the Colorado game.... 😉

USC had 5 DB's back to cover our 3 receivers.
You take those numbers in that type of situation everyday. If they only rushed 4 you are looking at 8 vs 5 in terms of defenders vs WR’s. I have no qualms with how the last play went. Has your big WR matched up 1 v 1 vs smaller DB and would have been in great position to make a play if not for the blatant PI.

because our OL sucks and a TE and a RB had to block.

O line has been a bit better than some make it out to be IMO, but I agree we needed TE and RB to help block in this situation. Just not easy to win a 3 on 5 matchup WR vs DB on a last play of the game throw like that. And even then... Banks got held.

We have failed so many times in these situations, it is hard to remember when we came through. We had the backup QB hail mary, Taylor Martinez actually had some big TD throws very late in games that helped us win those games. Those were all a LONG time ago now. We never come through in these situations. You'd think we could run all these near end of game plays blindfolded and ONE would hit to win a game, but nope.

THIS

but there's always the next game...

You’re advocating for tossing the baby out with the bath water here. We have a top 25 defense and you guys want to fire our fucking coordinator.

And to answer your question:

This year - Colorado and Buttgers
Last year - Illinois, Northwestern, and they damn sure did enough to win against Cockeye.

Those are the games that we won specifically because of the defense, there were other wins where the defense played great and the offense was more in sync.
Lets not forget most recently, OSU. Offense doesn't shit their pants and we win that game.
