Nebraska media is drinking that Koolaid

If you look at it... None of this coordinators that he hired are here in year 3, none of them got promoted to a HC job... the one we wanted left for a lateral move and the other 2 got demoted. That's... impressive.

There's a fine line this year for me. 7.5 is a great number for the over/under. 8 wins and I'm damn happy because I see 3 for sure losses. 7 wins and I'm really really really disappointed. He has 4 or so swing games, he needs to win 3 of those.
What are the 3 for sure losses? Assuming @Penn St is one, what are the other 2?

I cheated a bit and put 3 for sure losses between these 5 of Michigan, USC, @UCLA, @Penn State, Cockeye. Put 2 of those in my "4 swing games" where he needs to be 75% and add Minnesota with one of Sparty, @Maryland, Northwestern.

It's so Sean Callahan "fluid" right now it's pretty interesting for me. I just know that if we only lose 3 of those first 5 I stated and then only lose one more, I'm feeling REALLY good about the coaching job Rhule is doing.

It’s weird that people think what Penn St. is doing isn’t possible for us. We’ve basically recruited at their level but drastically underperformed them. No reason we can’t consistently be a 9.5-10.5 O/U win team.
Last year they had 2x as many blue chip recruits as we did

We are catching up with them though. 2-3 more years of Rhule and we will be up there with them

I thought I saw something over a 4-5 year span we had 1 less five star and only a handful less 4 stars. It was closer than I imagined.

I don't think that's accurate. Besides Dylan Raiola for 2024 we haven't brought in more of any star than Penn State. They've been killing us. Not sure if overall team ranking is better, but they are certainly bringing in more high caliber prospects than us according to On3. 2020 and 2021 we were close I suppose, but still behind.

Penn State 2025: 0 5 stars 16 4 stars
Nebraska 2025: 0 5 stars 9 4 stars

Penn State 2024: 0 5 stars 13 4 stars
Nebraska 2024: 1 5 star 5 4 stars

Penn State 2023: 0 5 stars 14 4 stars
Nebraska 2023: 0 5 stars 4 4 stars

Penn State 2022: 3 5 stars 13 4 stars
Nebraska 2022: 0 5 stars 3 4 stars

Penn State 2021: 0 5 stars 7 4 stars
Nebraska 2021: 0 5 stars 6 4 stars

Penn State 2020: 0 5 stars 13 4 stars
Nebraska 2020: 0 5 stars 10 4 stars

Penn State 2019: 1 5 star 15 4 stars
Nebraska 2019: 0 5 stars 9 4 stars

That is definitely more lopsided than what I saw. Maybe it included transfers? Or maybe I’m just wrong.

Better get on the hype train now bitches

Please help me with this. Sipp was on with Andy Staples and his first question out of the gate was: "Andy, the question on all Husker fans' mind is 'Can Nebraska get back to the point where they're challenging the Ohio State's and Georgia's every year?'".....

What Nebraska fans are really asking this? Not me. We can't ever get to a point where EVERY YEAR we're fighting with the top 5 programs. At no point in UNL football history were we doing that for an extended period of time. Had a window in the 70s. Small window in the early 80s. Had a nice stretch from 1993-2001 where we did it.

But the idea that NU football just "lives" in this elite world is not based in fact. Sipp embarrasses us when he asked dumb questions like that. We can get back there in spurts but we can't live there like OSU/UGA.

And that's OK!! Even USC, ND, Texas, Michigan haven't been able to live there. They drop out and drop back in.

Georgia doesn’t “live it the top” anymore than Nebraska did at our peak. College football is a cycle. Get a great coach & when he leaves, keep firing em until you get the next one.

My point is, it was a dumb question by Sipple. Questions like that make our fanbase look unrealistic and moronic.

absolutely true. Georgia shouldn't even be in a discussion with Ohio St, which has more than twice as many Top 5 AP finishes as Georgia.
