What is impressive is that Stille is arguably only the 3rd best defensive lineman on our team. That room is going to be a real strength this year.

Rogers, Rob, Daniels, then Stille.
I think their best look was when they went their goofy nickel with Ty Rob and Rogers as their interior and Payne and the ScoBluff kid at DE

I said 3rd only because Daniels hasn’t been consistent enough. He absolutely has the chance to be at that level this year.

PFF has a chub for Stille as a pass rusher. They have him as one of the top returning in the nation.

He had 1.5 sacks last year and has 13 in his career.
Rogers is a much better pass rusher than him. Way quicker feet and better hands to get himself free.
I was surprised to see him there but I also want to emphasize he is a good player, just probably not at that level.
Our defensive line will be THE strength of the team this year. They won’t light up the stat book because of our defensive scheme but they are going to make our linebackers look much better than they actually are. Which is nice since LB will be one of the weaknesses.

Stille also really benefitted in a few of those games towards the end by playing against a few freshmen that weren’t ready for Big Ten football.
