Breaking NCAA Punishes Nebraska Football

Does "the championship segment" mean literally the week of the championship game, or is it just a weird way to say during the season?

What the fuck is a “championship segment”?

Championship segment is a fancy way of saying the entire fall football season, from fall camp/practices to the last game.

Non-championship segment would be spring ball.

So we lost 4 games in 2021 due to STs

and

Now we got fined and dinged for too much coaching

I think the show-cause means that Frost would still have whatever remains of his 5 days "not at practice" even if he became the coach for another team. Not a big deal.

As far as Frost not being able to go out and recruit, I don't think that is the case. If it is, that is some bullshit.

This whole thing is bullshit really though. Bama has about 20 coaches as "special assistants" that are seen on-field even in games I believe. S$C gets basically no penalties for the BS they get away with, programs like North Carolina doesn't even make kids go to school/class, yet a big nothing burger ever happens to those schools.

This is a slap on the wrist penalty for us, but the worst damage is how the headlines read as if we did something pretty bad. Most only read the headlines. Plus the spin the writers put on this "penalty" without context in comparison to other schools and what they get away with.

Whatever I guess, but NU seems to be made an example of more often than not for piddly things while other schools do way worse with nothing ever happening.

This whole episode is very "meh." Both on the "infractions" and the penalties levied.

It is very much a regulatory compliance exercise where a couple of auditors got to travel to Lincoln for their big investigation, expense some steaks, and write their report.

Thanks. So some coaches sit out a few days in fall camp. This is a nothing burger.

NCAA trying to keep up appearances & Nebraska moves the needle cuz u got every Midwest fan base interested in our demise. Part of the illusion that the NCAA is legitimate

Yep- I wish NU would start acting like those SEC teams and offer very little, if any cooperation to the NCAA. What is the worst that could happen, a bowl ban? We can do that without the NCAA being imposing it.

The NCAA has no power anymore so naturally dumb ass Nebraska nice is self imposing sanctions.

This is like calling fouls on yourself in a pickup game in the drive way.

Bob Devaney would be disgusted by this pussy loser behavior.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure OSU reports and self imposes sanctions for this kind of stuff as well. I'm sure this shit happens more often than we realize and just don't ever hear about it much.

For the love of God, what is a “nothing burger”? I’ve seen several guys say it today and need to know. Is it like “No Big Deal” but in the form of ground beef?
It's like a wish sandwich. Don't know what a wish sandwich is? A wish sandwich is where you have two pieces of bread, and wish you had something to put between them.

What do you want for nothing...............................Rubber biscuit?

shouldn’t the shitty results on the field be penance enough? Obviously our use of extra coaches, etc. was super fucking effective…who cares. Win at football.
