NBA/Mafia Gambling Ring

Singapore specifically has a lot of quality-of-life type laws. They don't want chewed up gum on their streets & stuck under their tables, & it's in general viewed as a low-class habit. They want a super clean city, so they make the nuisance item illegal with a strong enough punishment that people take notice & don't do it. Just a different mindset than most places in America.

I don't think you find a lot of the Thai-style prostitution & druggie stuff there either, FWIW.
So if you wanna chew some gum, bang a prostitute, enjoy some gummies and buy a mansion for $79k then Thailand is where to go… @HBK4Life - I think that’s your retirement plan

Not to Cav it up, but…

The 1998 movie Return to Paradise — starring Vince Vaughn, Joaquin Phoenix, and Anne Heche — is not based on a true story.

It’s a fictional drama that was loosely inspired by an earlier French film called Force majeure (1989). Both films explore the same moral dilemma: whether friends should sacrifice their own freedom to save someone else from severe punishment abroad.
Ok well then I guess my memory isn't all that good.
