MLB

Took me a long time to come back to baseball after the 1994 work stoppage. I'm done with MLB but might still hit up some MiLB games just because it's fun and the kids enjoy it. Manfred and those cheap fuck owners in 'small markets' can eat a big bag of dicks.

So is it all the all owners? I really do not understand.

always interesting the people that don’t own or have ever run a company seem to have all the answers. I’m all about finding a middle ground, just stop painting the owners as the only problem in this.
I’ve heard the players are still butthurt about the on-field strip searches… sadly, that has been the most exciting thing to happen in an MLB game for years.

Looks like the guy drawing Mike Trout everyday until the lockout ends will be drawing for some time.75EF7D0B-DE48-416A-9C75-73DAA1D883FF.jpegD66D6D80-A7C8-427F-9A46-BBB09DFBDB04.jpeg04E8774F-4941-4995-847B-13A2EE216B58.jpeg

In a lot of cases this is true, but this has been brewing for the last 10 years, specifically MLB's inability to strike a deal during the COVID season in 2020 which had to be instituted by Manfred unilaterally. I think it is disingenuous that MLB's final offer did not include a CBT increase in the first three years and overall only minor increases thereafter where other Leagues have continue to make record money. NFL is a good example of having increases in their salary cap of over 7% each year in the last decade (with the exception of 2021) and similar if not bigger cap increases in the NBA. This is interesting because both the leagues both do revenue sharing where salary cap is based off revenues. So the owners telling the players that they are unwilling to budge on CBT as someone in the player's union is a bad offer, especially since the average baseball payroll is the same in 2021 as it was in 2015 and the increase from 2015 to 2019 was less than 10%.

Meh… baseball May find that people have only been watching it due to a lack of other major sports during a good chunk of the season. It’s boring as hell, and the more I have watched, the more I don’t care to.

I loved playing baseball growing up and following 80's/90's MLB but absolutely DGAF about it anymore. Partly due to me wanting to do other things than watch MLB during the summer and the fact that it overlaps with football. I had to prioritize what I sit on the couch for as an adult and baseball didn't make the cut.
