As a kid growing up in the 80's/90's, a Mike Tyson fight was an event that was like the Super Bowl. There were house parties at whoever bought the PPV.

I miss when boxing was that big. Pre-PPV you could watch a prize fight on ABC or HBO.

We had a cable descrambler. Was glorious!

That wasn’t Michael Spinks. It was his brother Leon. I believe he married or dated a girl from Columbus. He worked as a janitor at the YMCA.

He used to volunteer with the Special Olympics in Columbus. They’d come to that track in Pawnee Park every once in a while. I’d be working with my high school athletes on the track and I’d say to them, “See that guy over there? He once beat Muhammad Ali.” And they be like “whaaaat?”

Both Leon and Michael were boxers. And Leon did beat Ali. But Micheal was more successful, his only loss coming to Tyson in his final fight.

I remember watching this ring entrance. Spinks picked some bubblegum hip hop; Tyson just picked the noise of chains and hammers.

Jake Paul is a massive POS but he is a legit athlete. He wrestled at Ohio. And he’s young and has been training nonstop for how many years?

This is how I see it too. He looked like 150 years old and slow with no power against Roy Jones Jr. He's not even close to the same Mike Tyson and Paul knows it. I hate to see a great champion like him lose against a punk like Paul just because he's nearly 60.

I assume Paul is going to jab n jog since Tyson is way shorter and AARP age.

Would love to see Tyson land one of his classic uppercuts and steal Jake's soul, but a Jake decision win seems most likely. Looks like he opened a 5:1 favorite, although closer to 2:1 now.
