Sign Up Now!Right? What a castration of your current, potentially STILL, head coach. If I were Diaz and Cristobol turns it down, I'd quit. Then leave them high and dry. Also, with NIL why would you leave the money of Phil Knight for Miami?
My first thought. Shocking to me that Taggart did the same thing for FSU - and I'd consider FSU job to be better than Miami. How is Oregon the stepping stone here? So, does this say that Miami is a better job than Oregon? Really?
Cristobal is from Miami, family lives in Miami. That would be a big blow to the Pac 12 as they need an antithesis to USC and Oregon was playing that role because Cristobal uses the Saban playbook for recruiting. My first thought. Shocking to me that Taggart did the same thing for FSU - and I'd consider FSU job to be better than Miami. How is Oregon the stepping stone here?
Bingo. Incredibly disingenuous on their part. One more reason - in a long line of reasons - to hate the hurricanes. That being said, I think Miami is really really really doing a disservice to Manny Diaz and if they are publicly negotiating with someone for his job I think I'd go ahead and tell them to give me my $8 million buyout and to go fuck themselves.
Mind bottling. Can only assume it’s because he is from the area and has wanted the job before…and still surprising to me for some reason. My first thought. Shocking to me that Taggart did the same thing for FSU - and I'd consider FSU job to be better than Miami. How is Oregon the stepping stone here?
just cut manny's balls off and send him back out there. good luck, champ! So if Mario bucks them... How do you think this will play for Manny recruiting?
If I were a betting man, which I'm not. They'd pry their old WR Coach/OC from his alma mater. Now - who does Oregon go after?
Would Harrell ever be in play there, or need some HC experience first?
I would think they would want somebody with more experience, but a lot of the big names have either moved or been extended. Now - who does Oregon go after?
Would Harrell ever be in play there, or need some HC experience first?
Makes sense.John Canzano from The Oregonian seems to think Chip Kelly would be one of Oregon's top targets
It is crazy how lots of top end talent does want to go to Oregon, but coaches just keep jumping ship from there. I mean they have Phil Knight/Nike, seemingly endless money, some of the best facilities, a fairly easy conference, etc. I would think it would be a top job, but coaches keep using it as a stepping stone. Any idea why that is?What a kick in the balls for Oregon. Their fans hold themselves in way too high regard and it's going to hurt their egos to know they were a stepping stone job.
