The Jacksonville State starter gets hurt so Smothers comes into a tie game… and throws the potentially game-losing pick six.

But they bring the starter back in and he tied it up.

(Actually he it wasn’t the first time he came into the game. He ran for a TD earlier)

I don’t remember him being discussed as a WR. Was he? Or are you thinking of McCaffery?

Officially I don’t believe it was something that came out. On the boards there was a lot of talk around his speed, etc. moving to WR. Just traditional board fodder.

McCaffrey definitely was official.
