if AM gets hurt I think the offense will go extra run-heavy to use Smother's strengths

after that approach gets him hurt we'll get to find out what Harberg has

They can get by in the short term, but long term it will be a problem.

I was told Smothers is much better than Luke would ever be, but he also hates Luke so take it fwiw

So basically Adrian last year? If you ride the same wave Deab does he’ll go on and on about how great Adrian’s 70% was. Sooooo the old Adrian is our backup. 11-1

I don’t know if a D1 QB can really be much worse at throwing than McCaffery, his lack of arm talent was clear as day from high school - and his ability to read a defense might have been worse.

We'd be totally fucked if 2 goes down IMo IYAM. It seems evident to me from even limited video that Smothers arm is just not legjt. Like there seems to be noticeable arc and lack of zip on intermediate throws. And if AM goes down, they'd baby the hell out of him, and we'd be pretty predictable.

If the supporting cast is as good as has been advertised, they may be able to make Smothers work. It'll take Scott/Lubicks best play calling skills, but it can happen.

But McCaffrey should have never been a QB. Hes Taylor made to be a WR. If we had him this year, we'd be pumped for that group, with or without Manning. Smothers dwarfs Luke as a QB. Its just not saying much.
