Nebraska is screwed. Arkansas is pissed. Maryland and Michigan got better draws (IMO). Pitt goes from being one of 20 potential host sites last week to not even making the field.

start Povich game 1, Win...then who starts game two ? Hroch? Perry? do you want a committee? I'd throw the committee first at Northeastern then have Povich start against Ark, assuming we beat Northeastern. Totally agree the bracket is tough

You have to throw Povich first because you have to manage as if Friday is your last game of the season because winning that game is huge. We have to win Friday and not worry about Saturday. However, Saturday is different assuming you play Arkansas.

A benefit to throwing Povich Friday is that he could be available for a Monday or Tuesday game with Arkansas. We will have to beat those guys twice.

2) Perry
3) Hroch (elimination game)
4) Schwellenbach (Arkansas game)

I disagree. You save Povich. Losing game 1 is the same as losing game 2. You have to play five games either way. Your plan above is planning on playing five games (you’re conceding the Perry start vs Arky, basically). Why not have Povich face Arkansas on long rest vs two days rest? We will have to play five games in the above scenario, yes. You will have to beat Arkansas twice in any case. Arkansas hasn’t lost two games in a row to the same team all year. They haven’t lost a series all year for that matter. So your best case scenario is Povich pitching on Tuesday in the rubber match. If you pitch Povich on Saturday your chances go way down.
