I never had a problem with LH; he was mostly just an irrational sunshine pumper that drove clicks with his 98.99% predictions and other ‘all-things-are-amazing-in-Huskerland’ posts. He and Sam were buddies but I don’t lump LH into the same shitbag of a human being that SIA was. I think LH even took it upon himself in one of his final posts to recognize he was a lightning rod for criticism and drama, acknowledged it, and imposed a self-ban. He at least seemed like a decent person, if delusional.

that’s fair - I think my issue with LH was he acted like an actual insider (maybe he was with Bo - no idea) and still pumped sunshine relentlessly. We were 99.9999% going to get Andrus Peat until suddenly we didn’t. Anyone pumping sunshine that hard during the Pelini years deserves to take some lumps - The Vulcan wrote chapter books about how fixing the program was like turning a tanker at sea but Bo and crew had it well in progress

A good friend of mine who has coached Betts will tell you that he’s very lazy. Needs motivation bc he cannot create his own. If he had the motivation to match his athletic ability he’d be elite.
