One thing people forget - it is harder to recruit guys out of HS when there are 90 3 & 4 year remaining eligibility players on the roster. It's pretty easy for other schools to tell the guys you're recruiting that they will sit on the bench for a few years if they come to Nebraska.
We went 7-5 and made a bowl for the first time in 100 years, good players aren’t worried about sitting on the bench at Nebraska..

That would be true with a normal scholarship distribution. Not sure it is true when the distribution is heavily skewed to younger players and there is national talk about the team being on an upward curve. Agree that mid 4 star and up probably wouldn't be fazed by this, but they are attracted by teams that are already very successful.

Younger players who most haven’t ever seen the field or proven there college players. Good players aren’t worried about guys who have never even seen the field. There’s been national talk that we’re going to do something every offseason for the past 5+ years & we’re still in the same boat. I’ll believe it when I see it.

You and everyone else here.

Doesn't change the fact that a youth-heavy roster influences recruits. Whether those guys actually contribute or not is up for debate but I think it impacts perception, as it always has, unless you're going to offer an alternative theory as to why the recruiting class hasn't shaped up the way you'd like as of today.

Last visit weekend until September. List as of right now. As always probably some additions or subtractions before the weekend.

for the 6 non-commits I'll predict

1. We get Mpoumba or Cooper. They other ends up at Florida.
2. We get Scott. I don't think he'd take a visit here if he wasn't committing. ASU doesn't allow commits to take other visits.
3. Devin Jackson goes back to Florida (he decommitted from there)
4. We get Odem.
5. Miles is the toughest one. He will want to come but I don't think we have room in the WR budget to take two if he wants revenue sharing. I think in the end he goes to Kentucky - they are likely to offer some money as they really need slot receivers, We already have two who are making good money.

On3 4 star Edge Luke Wafle's USC contract:

"We’re hearing now a two-year deal worth between 2.2 and 2.6 million dollars is the range."

Insane. There are some On 3 site staff around the country who don't think USC will be able to pay all their deals.

Tedarius Hughes has been committed to Florida State for almost a year. In addition to visiting Nebraska, he also took an official visit to Miami and is going to Syracuse this weekend. He is considering a return visit to Lincoln this fall.

“I am still solid for Florida State,” Hughes said. “Besides Nebraska, I am also still considering Syracuse. Nebraska didn’t mention bringing me back in the fall for an official visit, but I will be back for another visit to Nebraska.”

Yeah, how the hell do they have 30 high school commits right now (so far)? How are they going to pay them? I also don't get how they are going to take up 30 spots on their roster with true freshmen, given the current/up coming rules. Something seems way off there.

Dean made a good point on his pod about that.
Schools like USC are opening up the coffers for commits so they can front load their NIL contracts before the house settlement takes effect. What happens next year when these guys all way to renegotiate their contracts and there’s not enough money to pay them (without having to go thru the clearing house).
It seems like some schools are riding with the assumption the clearinghouse will be powerless.

I imagine we will see a repeat of Texas A&M a few years back for schools like this. These guys will get through their freshman season and realize the promises weren't kept and there will be a mass exodus of high end prospects.
