Hindsight, sure. But we landed some pretty quality RBs in that class. We signed Rahmir Johnson, Ronald Thompkins and Dedrick Mills - all 4-stars were we much more highly sought after.Halls Step father is former Husker & NFL RB Jeff Smith. Uhlir would be a hell of a walk on get. Strong as all hell. Might even be able to out lift his old man these days. It does seem like he's hurt often though.Among the standouts on Tuesday was 2024 Battle Creek (Neb.) fullback Trenton Uhlir, who checked in at nearly 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds on Tuesday. 2024 Cross County (Neb.) fullback Isaac Dickey also performed well in drills and seemed to receive extra coaching from the Nebraska staff.
The camp also attracted fullbacks from outside as well. 2027 IMG Academy fullback/tight end Teddy Gawlik stood out as a potential fullback to watch in the future.
While the fullbacks worked out inside of the Hawks, the Huskers hosted a post-grad and transfer portal camp in Memorial Stadium.
The post-grad camp had about 45 players working out on Tuesday, including a group from Europe visiting Lincoln for the first time.
The headliner of the group from Europe was German linebacker Justin Okoronkwo, who is committed to Maryland and picked up an offer from Nebraska earlier this week.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder was working simultaneous pass rushing and linebacker coverage drills and looked the part of a linebacker who would more than excel in the Big Ten, showing great lateral quickness and was a really tough matchup in pass rush drills for the post-graduate offensive linemen.
In addition, 2024 German offensive tackle Keon Rohe was working out on Tuesday with the post-grad group. Rohe is a lean 6-foot-6, 285 pounds and was working out a bit at guard as well. The group from Europe, which also included Swedish running back Oliver Lundberg Coleman, drove overnight from Ohio State to Lincoln and was planning to camp at Michigan on Wednesday. Rohe will officially visit Temple this weekend after earning an offer from the Owls following a camp performance in Philadelphia last week. Coleman, a 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back, is currently committed to Western Kentucky.
