Could be it was because Burt already had an OV to Cockeye scheduled for this weekend by the time we offered him
Possibly, but before Burt got P5 attention how much were we pushing for a potential 3rd/4th TE? I suppose Ingwerson but I don't know how much of that is a legit offer vs giving one to the in state kid to appease the fan base. If Nelson is N then there's him, Flynt, and potentially Smith depending on how he develops. Adding this kid to the mix makes it seem like a crowded big board.

I think you're going to see WR and TE rooms both at about 9 players. It will be because we are using 2 TEs regularly, sometime 3. Roughly a little less than 4 scholarship players per position. WRs and TEs will account for 4-5 positions per play

By Smith you mean Smith Flores?

Be interesting to see if Flynt stays at TE. He has an 81" wingspan and was 6'5" 250 when he committed

That's a tackle brother

I agree - he won't be in the TE room. That's why we're trying to take at least 2 TEs in this class
It obviously remains to be seen where he will end up. That said, I've seen it posted elsewhere Flynt has said he's 100% a TE and not at all interested in moving to tackle. I have no idea how accurate that is, but it could be relevant info.

Keelan Smith
He slipped my mind - the flex TE masquerading as an athlete.

It's also possible Nelson would be going to McGuire's room as a jumbo WR.

But we have 7. In theory all could return. It could be Gilbert turns pro after this year - they talked that way - that leaves 6.

We've added Flynt. If we think we get Carter, and he stays at TE, Smith is a TE, and we add another, we'll be at 10 if Gilbert goes.

I think either Nelson must be viewed as a possible jumbo WR or Flynt as a possible OT or the numbers don't makes sense.

We are supposedly taking 3 WRs, which puts that total at 11.
