One thing we have to keep in mind is that the best players may take even longer now to commit than before. If you have a "typical" P4 HS recruit profile, you may be getting little or perhaps even no revenue sharing. If you OV somewhere you really like, you'll already have a pretty good idea how much you will get paid regardless of where you end up. You may well be motivated to decide quickly to ensure you get a spot at that school.
If you are a top 125 or top 150 guy (e.g., Obot or Bronough), the pay may well differ from place to place. Pay isn't everything, and you may not even take the highest offer unless the difference is so great as to outweigh anything else. Most of these guys are not likely to have their mind decided by 50K a year. But even if you really like a school, you'll want to play the process out to be able to make an educated choice about the best combo of place & pay.

Fun fact: his dad is a team surgeon for the Omaha Storm Chasers, UNO and Elkhorn North.

Jase’s family is LOADED. Multimillion dollar house with a pool, boat, on a lake. No kidding. Makes me think the reason Nebraska took him is to be a “culture walkon” like Rhule mentioned. He can certainly afford to pay tuition.

sometime earlier today Valdin Sone cancelled his Florida OV and scheduled Georgia instead (for 6/13).
Guessing he is gone, because he seemed to be leaning to Florida until he did that UV to Georgia and was offered. He has an OV to Oklahoma 6/20, which I will predict he never makes.
Georgia also offered another 2026 PPI DT today
as well as a 2026 TE/EDGE from PPI
and a C/O 2027 DT
