It’s 2AM in the Maldives….

Thank you- we are here for our honeymoon. 12 nights, got here on Friday the 18th and head back in the afternoon on the 30th landing back in the US on Halloween. First time out here and certainly won’t be our last, it has been the trip of a lifetime.
listen here little fella , you get off tPB and grind on the dance floor w your little philley..let’s call her Esmeralda and her busty boobies & you have a great nite sumbitch

That’s true. Rhule needs to continue to win close games.
But Frost benefited from one more opportunity of a close game than Rhule has had due to poorer coaching (eg. we beat Purdoodoo by 18 whereas that game probably would’ve been a one-score game under frost). Bottom line, I’d much rather have Rhule at this point (thru 20 games) than Frost. You agree, right?

Frost (thru 20 games): 8-12
1 score games:
2018: 1-5
2019: 2-2

Rhule: (thru 20 games):
1 score games:
2023: 1-5
2024: 1-2
Yeah for sure, I was just saying pointing to one game against Buttgers and saying it's evidence we can all the sudden win close games doesn't work when Frost, who was perhaps the worst coach of all time in one-score games, had a comparable or better record in them than Rhule at the same point at NU

Ignore list getting some new additions. Fans complaining or unable to see any positives in that game are miserable human beings whose goal is to drag others into the muck of their miserable lives. Please seek help and leave the rest of the world alone.
Here’s what I noticed with me personally. I’m normally pissed off if Nebraska loses badly or to a team we should have beaten. Even to the point, I don’t watch CFB anymore for the day or I don’t follow up on stats or notes from the Husker game.

Yesterday was different. I did do those things. It was a mostly well played game that didn’t disappoint me.

Losing winnable games isn't a step in the right direction, quite the opposite. It doesn't really matter what the team is ranked. They weren't playing like the #4 team - we deserve some credit for that, but once again, couldn't close out a very winnable game

Leading in the 4Q against a top 5 team is a hilariously meaningless stat. First, because we lost. And second, because it's just where the team was ranked at the time. If we'd played and led Florida St in week 0, we'd have led a top 10 team. They're 1-6 now. When we led Michigan in the 4Q in 2021, they were undefeated and #9 nationally. They were a top 5 team like two weeks later.
Scott Frost was the king of losing winnable games. He had OSU on the ropes a couple times and Michigan when they were a highly rated team. Rhule has pretty much carried on with losing the close games. You have to start winning them at some point.

Agreed, but look at the two factors that could be affecting Rhule's close game situation.

1. OC Marcus Satterfield - Seriously, here's what I grabbed from another researcher from another board:
  • Points per game: Ranked 92
  • Yards per game: Ranked 88
  • Points per play: Ranked 100
  • Yards per play: Ranked 104
  • Red zone scoring: Ranked 130
We're not doing great at all on the offensive side of things. Somewhere between the playbook and the play calling, Satt is not getting it done considering how much he's getting paid. We didn't even have a two minute drill to run yesterday. That's something you have prepped and ready to go before every game.

2. Personnel - Yes, we have a very senior level of talent on the team. Unfortunately, you also have a senior amount of 'another close game we will lose' mentality on the team. Looking at Indianus, Cignetti brought a decent amount of senior talent from JM with him that know how to win. They know how to keep the foot on the throat to win out on every game. Winners win, losers lose.

In summary, let's get an OC who knows how to scheme well and call it better on gamedays. With just a little more better offensive production, we wouldn't have lost Illinois, Indianus would be a different game, and OSU would have been an upset for them. As far as personnel, we're 4-5 games away from having seniors on the team who know nothing but losing close games off of our roster.

That’s true but we are going to miss some of those seniors on both lines next year. We could actually take a step back with both lines. It still goes back to Rhule for hiring an average at best oc in Satterfield and some other offensive assistants as well as Foley on special teams who seem to be weak hires right now. Rhule has to get ahead of the failures after the season or he won’t get it done here either.

Love Aman Resorts…. That sounds like a lovely trip between there and Maldives previously. We won’t be staying in Sri Lanka on the way home but are connecting through Colombo.

We are staying at the St. Regis and I cannot recommend it enough. It’s about a 45 minute sea plane ride from Male here via Trans Maldivian airways, however it has been beyond worth it. We’re here for 12 nights and the service, staff, and activities have all exceeded what were very very high expectations. Helps I am a Marriott Ambassador Elite I’d imagine but the entire resort is incredible and I cannot recommend it enough. It’s true paradise.
Thanks! I’ll definitely put that on our list. Loved the St. Regis Bora Bora. Can imagine what the Maldives one is like. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
