Is the NFL rigged?

my tinfoil hat theory is that the NFL tolerates blown calls and general incompetence as a cover for when they need to put a finger on the scale. not even addressing the gambling, the NFL and TV networks have a strong financial interest in keeping games close and/or making sure their most popular teams and players succeed
You can call a hold on any play or PI easy on most. It’s not hard to sway a game especially from a betting perspective.

It's true that a referee can influence things, either intentionally or by human error.

It's absurd to think that there is a vast conspiracy to "rig" games. That would take a coordinated effort that presumes that no one involved in that complicated effort would speak of it. People are always the weakest link and we'd know by now.
This. There's too many moving parts for the NFL to be straight up rigged on a mass scale without word getting out. Although, I also don't doubt that there are some small scale intentional influences going on amongst the refs and other officials. Not necessarily rigging the game, but giving a certain team an advantage or doing something to add to the drama.

Yes.

The end of the bungholes chiefs game Al’s furthered the point.

Browning was out of the tackle box and ball made it past the los no IG

Plus there was a receiver close. How about when the ref ruled Mahomes short of the first down but another came from the middle of the field to over rule him.

This.

People don't seem to get that there is a human referee bias towards what is perceived the "better teams". Call it the MJ effect. Being a legend kind of gets you the calls which only cements the legacy making the problem worse.

The Patriots in the day got the calls, now they don't. Etc etc.

Other than maybe marching orders like, "Protect QBs at all costs". There's no "make this team win"..

Yes. Another player got myocarditis from the vaccine and collapsed on the field in the 49ers game smh. The best part about being a conspiracy theorist is not getting myocarditis 😂😂😂😂

I think that a lot of times, the media coverage plays into this as well. I remember the year that Wisconsin Basketball made it to the Championship game. All you would hear on broadcasts from the announcers were "Wisconsin just doesn't foul", "Wisconsin plays great defense without ever fouling", etc.. They fouled non-stop and were pretty damn dirty at times, but officials didn't call them for fouls and I'm fairly sure it's because they bought into the narrative that was being pimped out.
