Interesting Stat on Last Year’s Offense

Hated Whipple's offense, Throw to set up the run. Ran just basic run plays. Put his oline in horrible spots. Got multiple qbs killed because of stubbornness. Glad he is gone and out of this state.

I'm not sure what this means. Thompson throws to the right person? We had good receivers that got open?

I think it means you scheme them open, run good routes and the QB finds them. Never saw a stat like this and assumed it would be higher, especially for a team like Ohio State or Alabama.

Agreed for the most part. He was good at exploiting a deficiency, like Palmer vs bad CB's, but didn't have much of a counter punch when things didn't work according to plan. It really wasn't an improvement over the Frost offense, just a better throwing QB and elite WR.
