Rome and Italy are amazing. Talk about history. It's been 11 years since I was there, but all of it is still fresh in my memory. I remember first day we were there, we were walking around just to see the city, they were doing some tear up and street repairs on one street. They had the street dug up I'd say 30 feet deep at least. Underneath the street were old buildings (and the ones above the street are already very OLD), you could literally see the entire outside walls of the buildings underground (under the current street) with doorways, window openings - everything. They literally at some point filled in over those buildings that are now underground, and built an entire city on top of all of that. Cobblestone streets of course, everything was ancient. And amazing.
The US is a baby comparitively to places like Rome, Italy and Europe. I could see myself moving there sometme down the line. We were only there about 2 weeks (Rome and Venice mostly but did travel some), and loved every moment of it.
