If Nebraska goes QB hunting in the portal..

I'll be honest, I have had the feeling all along that he will be coming back.

I absolutely could be wrong. But it feels like people are trying to make him out to be this prima donna, and I don't think he is. I think he genuinely likes it here and genuinely likes Rhule.

On top of that, he is a QB that, for many, has under performed expectations. He also is coming off of a season ending injury. Are teams really going to pay him the kind of money that we are?
The prima dona is his father unfortunately. He's directed Dylans life step by step since middle school. Building his brand etc.

I'm here to applaud you for using your own opinion and knowledge

Well I wasn't looking up anything that needed statistical backing or a detailed list of information so.... I really didn't need it did I?

Some of you characters on here are interesting when it comes to AI or sourcing information. It's as if you would rather have someone just say a bunch of BS without any proof or data driven analytics.

Carry on!

No, I'm just here for the bit. It's comical and brings me a good laugh everytime

This is my perspective as well minus the last part about money. If a kid is making a decision based on what they perceive to be a move to provide them with a better potential to increase draft position or establish draft position on NIL money, then they aren't serious about maxmizing as a football player.

If I were Dylan and I leave NU it's because I think I can be better developed elsewhere.

Lastly, I would have to be honest with myself on what I'VE done and if there is more I could do to develop outside of NU resources (not suggesting outside coaching).

Same here - my instincts tell me he'll be back. I seem to think he's heavily influenced (or guided) by Poppa Dom. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes with narrative about the direction of the offense. That will also matter and tie into his development or lackthereof.

I don't disagree. And Dom's impact in Dylan's life so far makes 100% sense to me - Dylan was just a kid. But now he is going into his 3rd year of college...he should be starting to make more of his own decisions. That's why I think he stays.

I hope Raiola returns. But there's a chance he doesn't right?

Who should Nebraska pursue?

Here's a couple of names to start the conversation. I have no idea if any of them are available or not. Just some thoughts.
  • Drew Mestemaker, North Texas - Top 3 in the nation in efficiency. 31/7 TD/Int, 4,129 yards - coach left for Oklahoma St, I think he'll be in high demand. He's only a RS freshman so not sure if that's the route Nebraska would want to take. Not a runner
  • Brendan Sorsby, Cincinati - has 1 more year, we all know about him
  • Josh Hoover, TCU - His OC is likely moving to South Carolina. He was 24th in pass efficiency (Raiola was 16). Has thrown for 9600+ yards in his career. 71 TD and 33 Int. Not a runner.
  • Colton Joseph, Old Dominion - Will have 2 years left, threw for 2,624 yards, 60% comp., 21 TD, 10 Int. He also ran for 1,007 yards. Side note...Ricky Rahne would be a sweet hire for OC.
  • Alona Barnett III, JMU - Has 1 year left, threw for 2500 and ran for about 500 yards in both 2024 and 2025. 47 TD and 13 INT in those 2 years.
  • Sam Leavitt, Arizona State - Sounds like he's gone from ASU. Thrown for 34 TD and 9 INT and ran for 749 yards the past 2 years at ASU. Sounds like the relationship between him and ASU has soured.

Colton Joseph is interesting. I don't know if he's a Big 10 QB. But he's interesting. TCU's offense fell off late in the season is that a Josh Hoover issue or TCU team issue? What the heck happened between ASU and Leavitt? Was he a Skattebo merchant?
Well well well

Does anyone know what his expected timeframe is for recovery?
