Inside Info Hearing Tyreke Johnson is N.

I'd say temper your expectations on this one. Sounds like he's got the skill set of a safety, but he heard NFL corners make more money so he insists on playing there. Supposedly in HS, his coaches mostly just turned him loose and let him excel on raw athleticism, so he came in with tons of potential but not much skill, with some scouts saying he was way overrated. When he finally managed to hit the field, he wound up playing timid because he didn't actually know how to play corner.

He'd probably be better off in a safety spot where he can focus on being a ball hawk. If he still insists on playing corner, well...
Interesting. I think if there was one coach I would want to take that on it would be fish.

Am I wrong in that this sounds eerily similar to Lamar Jackson?

Yeah, I think if people are expecting him to come in and be a day one starter, I don't think he is that guy. He got some starter reps when Cam Brown when down last year, but his max reps in a game are something like 20 or so. Maybe we still bring in a guy across CTB (we've been pursuing Allie Green from Tulsa and that dude from Mizzou) as I think we're in best available mode and there are some obvious depth shortfalls at DB. I'm probably more worried than anything if this dude comes in and unseats Newsome honestly.

What this dude does bring is 3 years of eligibility and depth to fill the place of Delancey or Francois and I sure as fuck like the prospect of that set up w/ Fish. Keep bringing in guys like this and and Nadab Joseph and it'll pay off.

i expect him to be a day one starter and all big 10 lock down corner opposite our other all big 10 lockdown corner and we are going to shut down Oklahoma's offense and OSU's offense and we will go undefeated in the regular season and win the Big 10 championship and go to the playoffs

Sure and Verduzco will figure out how to coach qb's in our qb driven offense.
