Had several. If you get them sporadically, they don't work very long (couple weeks). If you get them consistently (every 4-6 months), the relief lasts longer and longer.
Know a few people who have due to herniated discs and degenerative disc disease. Well worth it they have said. Lasts between 3 months to a year. Still will have some discomfort but it’s temporary relief.

Not a medical expert and this may be true (not needing a second for awhile.) I do believe it depends on age and the condition you’re in though in terms of frequency. When the older individuals I know got their injections, their condition was arthritic already and had spinal compression. I know one person who got a steroid injection for a herniated disc in their late 20s and they are mid 30s and haven’t needed another. Also I know the doctors preface before the injection that they can’t always get close enough to the preferred injection area where the injection can be ineffective.
Don't have the actual statistics in front of me, but I would imagine you are more likely to end up in a wheelchair from the drive to the Dr office than from a botched operation.
