Hartzog to the portal

I don’t know what Aurich prefers, 3 safeties or a Nickel (I think Ni). Hartzog is more of a safety than a Nickel, and my hunch is we’re moving Jones back to Safety. So, we would prefer a transfer over Hartzog for CB or Ni.

They've got a lot of good options in the back 5 so its going to be an interesting Spring to see who lines up across from Marshall. My guess is it will either be Bryson Webber or Amare Sanders, but lurking back there is the 5* Odem the true Freshman. Safety will leave you then with Rex Guthrie at Rover, Jones at Strong Safety, and Rhett or Benning at Free Safety.

When you consider that your 2nd team would be Odem at Boundary and Amare or Webber at Field, and then Conn at Strong, Rhett or Benning at Free and Turner or Prude at Rover you are setting pretty well off.

The back end and linebackers are the least of our concerns.

To his credit, he did have a couple of huge plays for us. The TD on the punt block against Indiana in 2022 and the interception against Cincy.

Hope he can catch on somewhere else.

He was a ball hawk who was ‘Boom’ or ‘Bust’.

He’s not going to be an elite shutdown corner, but he’s good now and needs to clean a few things up to be very good.

I think he'd be a good safety too and if we pick up a great boundary corner or freshman is ready to go I'm fine with that. I just think its a little easier/cheaper to get a safety in the portal.
