Ballyneal the last two days, 18 yesterday and 27 today with a bad back (all of the sudden). I still think sand hills is better, but this isn’t far off. I like how much more laid back it is, plus they have a great 12-hole short course. Lodging is way better, too.

Might be my favorite course in the US that I've played. I'll throw in the caveat that I haven't been out to Sandhills.

We ran into some friends on the par 3 course a few years back. They were all fired up because someone got a hole in one on one of the blind holes. All the tee shots funneled to the hole. Two guys were playing the same exact ball with no markings and one went it so they didn't know who actually made the Ace.

the ground game is a lot more effective at Ballyneal. Turf is leaner and bouncier and more of the greens are built to accept a running approach i.e., it plays more like a links, which I prefer. Enjoy your time out there!

Had a monster round up at pumpkin ridge in Oregon this week. I highly recommend the course if you’re in the area. A decent amount of dog leg lefts so slicing lefties will love it.

Pumpkin ridge sounds kind of gay buddy
