Golf Thread

I'm a little bitter tonight. I pissed away my best ball-striking day in years by 3-putting 2 makeable birdie putts and then made a stupid double when I left one in a bunker
I hear you. I’m a hack but I had the chance to break 80 for the first time since I started playing in 2021 last week. Just needed par on a straight par 4 18th hole, and I bladed a greenside chip and ended up with double bogey.

being on the verge of breaking 80 after 4 years is awesome. most golfers never get there no matter how long they've played

Taking my oldest son on golf trip the second week in June. We want to hit up the panhandle and Sandhills region. I have some good ones lined up and might be able to hit Sandhills at the end. My dad’s cousin works there. Anyway, what are some hidden gems that are fillers. I definitely want to do Pelican Beach near Hyannis and maybe one or two near Scott’sbluff. Recs?

Haven't played some of these in years, so keep that in mind, but a hidden gem was Legends Buttes in Crawford. Skyview in Alliance is pretty good. Monument Shadows in Gering, Four Winds in Kimball (though I heard rumors that it has went downhill).

Thanks Lee

I keep a map of golf courses handy that you could have a look at.

My favorite under the radar sand hill courses are Augusta wind in Stapleton. It’s a must see. pelican beach, Mullen, Dannebrog (not sand hills but sand greens, one of which is in a cow tank), and Thedford are also very solid and of the place.

Haven’t seen Frederick’s peak near Valentine, but heard good things.

I am very fucking jealous of you. Have you played all the red courses or just visited some?

We’re definitely doing Thedford and Stapleton. My family is from Thedford, Tryon and Arnold.
