The clubhouse at Payne’s is amazing. Best one out there and for a public course one of the best I’ve ever been to. If you are going there once, you should play all 3 but I’ve taken friends down to golf and generally no one says Payne’s is the best.
Fun fact: Coach Cook has a private locker at Paynes

Anybody use Titleist AP1 718’s? Been thinking about picking some up. Thoughts?

Or the newer AP3’s. I think they’re closer to players clubs.

I didn't really answer your question - The AP3 are in between the AP1 and AP2. The AP1's are game improvement irons for higher handicaps, the AP2's are for better players. They call the AP3's a "player's distance club."
I think that’s kinda where I currently sit. I think I’m going to look into the AP3’s or T350’s. I may just get fitted and find out.

I got fitted for the first time in about 10-11 years a couple months ago. Glad I went through the process. Ended up with Mizuno 243's.

Anyone know what they can do for "fitting" if a person rarely has the same swing twice in a row, and is generally pretty bad at golf, but wants to upgrade over a set of clubs bought at ShopKo in the early 2000s?

Purely hypothetical question, of course.

They can still make sure the lie/loft/length is correct and they'll be able to get the right flex/weight shaft too

After that it's on you

Spend the money on lessons first. Even with your ShopKo clubs…

Just finished 6 days of Florida golf. Can’t wait to be retired.

We played Tiburón one day where the Grant Thornton was in December. Pretty sweet course. It would have killed me from the tips.
Almost played there over Christmas when we went to Ft Myers. Will have to check it out next year. Ended up playing Valencia in Naples.

God my game is infuriating right now. Every round is 9 holes of shit show and 9 holes of playing well.

I’m center club face on the driver but it’s 50/50 fade/draw with no control over it so I’m missing most fairways.

I’m puring irons but pushing about half of them so can’t hit greens. I’m pulling wedges

And I can’t make a 4’ putt to save my life.

I’ve never gone through a stretch like this where I’m scoring like shit but hitting the ball this well and it’s driving me fucking crazy.

When I played on Tuesday out at Woodland Hills I had a 46 on the front, and a 35 on the back. WTF is that.

I believe that's an 81.
