I don't know if you do any moderation work, but it feels like we're pretty much an unmodded board outside of rare instances of dumbduckery
i report posts all of the time and the mods never do anything

I was listening to the Audible. First one with Mandel returning from vacation. He was telling about this story. Said that the media defaults to assuming the other members of the media are fair and honest but did say after looking into this one he was a little ashamed of the inaccurate reporting done by the AJS.

They did keep saying that it’s insane that they had one of their own die from speeding and they can’t honor their memory for half a second and slow the fuck down, or that seemingly there’s no discipline for continuously doing so, but the sexual abuse seems to be off base and inaccurate reporting.

We were in a similar boat in the 90s. A lot of outlets were questioning how far we’d go to win games. And we had many reasonable excuses. Like, we’re giving these kids a chance to make something of their life. Giving them father figures. But it’s completely fair to question those decisions. Should we have kicked Phillips or the Peters brothers off the team instead of covering up who they were? Probably. We didn’t. Who knows what would have come out of an extended TO tenure where we were continuing to make these types of decisions. But he quit within a couple years and turned the reins over to someone who set us on a slow decline so our program was no longer on the crosshairs.

Smart is at the beginning of his career. He just won two championships. Nows the time to crack down. Otherwise this will tear the program down in disgrace. It’s not just about the speeding. It’s about the lack of accountability or discipline and where that takes you ethically into the future. If you’re ignoring the obvious then what else is going on?

AJS took some immoral liberties in their hit piece but at some point they’ll find something real.
