Game week—season predictions

I will always have faith. It's just not in me to be too negative.

But for the past 4 years about half way through the season I think "Why didn't I see this coming?"

So what do I not see coming this time? The secondary is young? Whipple won't run the ball? The transfers underwhelm? There's obviously glares...the OL, lack of interior DL depth.

I'm gonna go rose colored glasses again. I think the team is talented, I really like the defensive staff. I like the offseason hires that were made. They all made sense with the exception of probably Raiola.

Best Case Scenario
Nebraska is a favorite in 8 games. They win all of those. They win 1 game they aren't favored in...lets say Cockeye. Lose to OU, , Michigan, and Wisky.

It wouldn't surprise me if they beat OU though and maybe lose to Cockeye instead.

Worst Case Scenario
Nebraska loses to Northwestern, barely gets by North Dakota, beats GA Southern and get lambasted v OU. They turn around out of the first bye and go 2-1 v Indiana, Rutgers and Purdue. They sit at 4-3 going into the 2nd bye. Is that enough to get Frost fired? Maybe. They go 1-4 in the final 5 games. Finish 5-7 and Nebraska is looking for a new coach.

I'm going to say they end up 8-4.
Wins vs NW, ND, GaS, Indiana, Rutgers, Illinois, Minnesota and Cockeye

Scott Frost gets another year.

We are one injury at numerous positions away from disaster. I just can't overlook it or Frost's ability to fuck something up every week anymore. To me this season is basically us all-in trying to draw to an inside straight on the river with like 5 outs.

Frost doesn't get fired mid-year because it doesn't make any sense, but everyone with a pulse knows that Turd is going to pull the trigger.

Next coach: Dave Aranda would be my ideal coach. B1G experience, head coach at another Power 5 school for a few years. Is actually playing defense in the Big 12. Yes, please to all of this. Also someone that would retain Mickey Joseph hopefully and keep some of this recruiting class in tact on the offensive side of the ball.

Other candidates: Bill O'Brien (just a good fucking football coach, but a shitty GM); Lane Kiffin (why the hell not)

I’m going 8-4, because of special teams and coaching. It’s sad it’s taken this long, but I think we finally have a team that can line up properly and just run the plays consistently without penalties or mental mistakes. The inability to do that, and terrible special teams has legitimately cost us 5 games a year. Assuming that stuff is fixed, we’re at 8 wins.

I think we start 5-1 and finish 1-5 to get to 6-6

Part of me says 5-7, but I also think I could stand on the sideline as HC, not say a word during the game, and go 8-4

I think 7-5 is the difficult number for Turd. Plenty of people will want Scott gone while there will be lots of people that 7-5 makes happy.

So that is what I'm guessing because of course we will land on a number that will rip the fan base apart, cause whatever decision we make to become a national embarrassment and probably ruin our first bowl game in years.
