I think the trade is a win for the Bears. You don't overpay for an off-ball linebacker in today's NFL so Poles realized that and got good draft capital for 2/3 of a season of a player.

He's on pace to have career high tackles, sacks and interceptions....below average season?

Because the off the ball linebacker part is a rationalization for losing a talented player.
