Fellas, I’m so sick and tired of this square peg, circle hole marriage. I didn’t like it when it was announced and I don’t like it now.

Regionally, we have to get back to the Big 12 footprint. Fuck traveling to USC, UCLA, Maryland, Penn St, Rutgers, Maryland, Oregon and Washington.

Please share your thoughts in this thread. If you disagree @Jim14510 will eat a hot dog.

Dr Steve Brule Yes GIF

Fuck it, I'm game. Send us back to the Big 12. This program is a fucking joke. The O-Line doesn't care.

Supposed 5 star QB and a guru at OC.

Fucking clown show, just scrap it all. We can cheer for an 8 win season.

It's such a fucking joke

You want progress? Fire Donny and whoever coaches our RBs now

I;m gonna get some drunk food from D'Leons

I love you all, fucking insane

You OK this morning?

For future reference, a pint of water, a B complex capsule and a couple of old school aspirin before you go to bed really help reduce the hangover effects the next morning.

That’s assuming you’re not so drunk you yak that up, but it does work.

Father in law actually asked me a question similar to this thought during the Michigan State game. “Does Nebraska even belong in the Big 12?” No. Never has never will. I told him it’s funny and ironic. Back in the day, we ran a big 10 style of play in the big 12, and now we run a big 12 style of play in the big 10. And we aren’t leaving the big 10, yet nobody likes to acknowledge/accept that that is how a lot of the big 10 plays. And sorry fellas, we’re not getting that Oregon/Ohio state/Michigan/USC talent anytime soon either. Minnesota supposed to be dog shit and we get clowned on for 60 minutes last night with stuff that we ran in youth tackle football 20 years ago? Come on now

The Big 12 is regional? Arizona, Utah, BYU to UCF? It isn't the conference that is the issue.

I mean… if we go back to the Big12 we are traveling to UCF, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Arizona, and Utah. Geographical footprint doesn’t really change much from a travel perspective. Hell Cal just had a good old fashioned ACC win last night.

The biggest advantage of the move to the Big Ten at the time was money and stability. The loss of our historic rivals was mitigated by the idea that we'd develop rivalries with other Midwest schools in our proximity like Cockeye, Minnesota, Wisconsin. I think we received all of these things, but half-baked.

1. Stability - Certainly got this but the Big 12 ended up not collapsing and is probably the third most stable conference today. And our leaving greatly contributed to its instability at the time.

2. Money - we're getting a lot more money but what's it to fans? We never have enough. The beers are $10 in the stadium. University hasn't lowered ticket prices. We have more to spend on facilities and whatnot, but it doesn't result in a better team. We'd be a middling team in the Big 12, so what has all this extra money gotten us 15 years later? Everything is more expensive and the team is worse.

3. Rivalries - the B10 sold off our developing rivalries with Minnesota and Wisconsin for money. We still have Cockeye.

Culturally, we're an "OK" fit, but everyone looks down on us as low prestige academically. Our ag research means nothing. All we really bring to the table is eyeballs on the screen, which dwindle as the year goes on and it becomes apparent we suck again.

All in all, as they say, "you can't go home again". Big 12 isn't what it was when we left. Just wish the whole reshuffling had never happened. Give me the Big 12 of 2007.

Go back to the Big12 to get beat by Texas Tech and BYU? Nah take the money in the B1G and be Purdont.

I'm in on that.

We’ve had an average of 4 wins for the past 8 years. I’m no math whiz but I’m pretty sure we’re already living that drea

Yeah, less money for our football team and university would fix a lot.
