I'm kind of at the point that any hire will be a better hire.
Meaning they'll be more well-coached. The "one" thing this staff did a reasonable job with is recruiting. The next coach will need to be an excellent talent evaluator and hire great talent evaluators, along with being a solid coach. If you do that, you can become bowl eligible by the 2nd year and build on that.
Secondly, it seems so often we hire shitty assistants and try to go cheap. We've got to get over the mentality of going cheap. I'm sure the interview process with Turd will be extensive. What is the plan for recruiting and talent eval? What is the plan for assistants? What is the plan to support and encourage NIL? What is the plan for coordinators? What philosophically works in the B1G to be successful? How do you plan to leverage the facilities and fan base?
Scott was one of the worst Power 5 coaches ever. We don't even need to let that sink in, because we all know it. It was stunningly bad.
