Finally some relief.

I don't even want to think about it. with all of the coaching talent available this year I can see us hiring yet another coach with some sort of Nebraska ties. This is why Turd got hired. He will hire who he is told to hire. Again there will be no real search/interview process. Hope I'm wrong, but doubt I am.
Hope to FUCK that yore wrong.

Aranda……

.

I understand being nihilistic about the situation, but I don't think Turd came to Lincoln with the goal in mind of playing average at best football. Now he might think the best hire is someone totally unfuckable, but I doubt Turd is aiming to end up in the Cheezit bowl as the ceiling

I have a hard time seeing Turd hiring a middling at best TC approved head coach. Also think they may go as high as 10+ mil for a true big name.

If they aren't throwing big $ numbers at the big names to start this process, they are fucking up. Go big or go home. We have the $ to afford to pay a top flight coaching staff. Do it.

I don’t see an unfuckable hire making this work.

For real? Guy turned around a shit program and is on his way to turning around an even worse one. He's mentioned because of merit, not NU ties
Yes for real. Lots of coaches can win in the MAC. Dude hasn't done anything of note at KU yet and he's a giant unknown as far as recruiting at a high level goes. But yeah, merit. Let's go with that

Agreed, I think we'll be surprised, in a good way, about some of the names we'll be hearing in the next couple of weeks/months. My opinion is Nebraska is a very attractive job.

If Turd had balls he’d have fired Frost last year. He’s an administrator through and through. He’s a bean counter. He’ll find the most cost-effective hire he can and justify the middling results.

Maybe I’ll feel differently tomorrow.
Yeah let’s see what you think tomorrow. We’re all pissed and just saying shit right now. Reality is in college football, we all know you can’t do anything without important support no matter how big your balls are if you want support in the future

I won’t be surprised either way unless it’s some crazy Mike Riley type of hire with a guy no one ever saw on the radar. I’m assuming the name of our next coach has been mentioned on here.

My guy just says it'll be a "woah, well that's pretty awesome" type of hire. But what you're saying probably makes more sense. Either way, we're upgrading so that's something I guess.

Nebraska has been like a mismanaged top end race car. It has everything you need to be successful, it's just had an awful driver behind the wheel.

If you told me today what the next coaches salary is per year we would have a good idea. It will be come down to what Turd and the AD are willing to pony up.

As long as it doesn’t take 5 years of dogshit to realize it’s not working I’m fine with unfuckable

I'm kind of at the point that any hire will be a better hire.

Meaning they'll be more well-coached. The "one" thing this staff did a reasonable job with is recruiting. The next coach will need to be an excellent talent evaluator and hire great talent evaluators, along with being a solid coach. If you do that, you can become bowl eligible by the 2nd year and build on that.

Secondly, it seems so often we hire shitty assistants and try to go cheap. We've got to get over the mentality of going cheap. I'm sure the interview process with Turd will be extensive. What is the plan for recruiting and talent eval? What is the plan for assistants? What is the plan to support and encourage NIL? What is the plan for coordinators? What philosophically works in the B1G to be successful? How do you plan to leverage the facilities and fan base?

Scott was one of the worst Power 5 coaches ever. We don't even need to let that sink in, because we all know it. It was stunningly bad.

I think the recruiting success is fools gold.

‘18 & ‘19 classes are rearing their ugly heads right now. Player retention has been atrocious despite everything we said about how good Frost was at flipping the roster.

Maybe, but our assistants we're terrible with development. When players see that, they leave. When development is bad, talent flounders.

Frost fucked up by not getting rid of the G5 coaches his 2nd year. At this point, I'm glad he fucked up.

At the time Frost got hired he was given an upper end salary and solid money for a coaches pool and completely failed, so we really didn’t go cheap last time. I’m more against the buddy hires which has been happening too long.
