A boys weekend in Lincoln brought 247Sports No. 1 ranked 2024 prospect in five-star quarterback
Dylan Raiola and his father Dominic to Nebraska to spend time with his uncle Donovan who is the offensive line coach for the Huskers.
The trip included Nebraska’s basketball game where the student section serenaded the younger Raiola with chants exclaiming how much they want him to play his college football for the Huskers.
“I’ve never experienced anything close to that!” Raiola told 247Sports. “Those fans are the best and they have always showed my family love! It means a lot. It’s a blessing to be able to experience these fans at these games! They always show out for their Husker sports! It’s a great site to see!”
Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule was out to see Raiola throw during a workout at school in January and the next week all of his assistant coaches made the trek to show how much of a priority the blue-chip passer is as they try and rebuild this storied program.
Donovan Raiola was on the prior Nebraska staff and is excited to be working alongside Rhule and the new staff.
“He’s pumped!” Dylan stated. “He’s ready to put the work in. He knows what it takes and along with all those great guys and coaches in that building Nebraska will be back!”
The younger Raiola has been building a nice rapport with Rhule and offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield.
“"I know they want to win right now," Dylan said in a recent interview. "Just from Coach Rhule being the head coach he wants to do it the right way. He's not going to cut corners. He's going to build it from the ground up. I have a great relationship with him and I feel comfortable talking to him about things. Coach Satterfield I think is great. He's coached in the SEC. he's seen a lot of talented quarterbacks. Spencer Rattler the latest one. They have a lot great pieces. Everybody is young. I think they're trending upwards in that program."
Raiola is in the process of lining up his spring visits. Other contenders include Georgia, USC and Oregon alongside several others he’s having dialogue with.
