They should have ended HIMYM after season 6 when Marshall’s Dad died.


Final season was an abomination and I will never forgive them for it.


Much like Game of Thrones except HIMYM had no locked in lore or cannon they had to follow, they had a blank canvas and took a big Jackson pollack shit on it.



PS: the show has not aged well at all, like 1/2 of the plot lines no longer are applicable due to smart phone technology. Ex: Google a question, Uber a ride, ordering food and obviously Dating apps and/or social media. The entire Barney character doesn’t work after like 2016 because of dating apps or social media. It’s a nice time capsule of what dating was like right before the apps and social media took over tho, my wife and I started dating in 2010 so we never had them.

Just watched the last two episodes tonight. I was thinking the same thing as you at the midway point, but holy fucking shit stick with it. The last episode is a mega payoff and there’s no way I won’t be watching season 2.

The last episode was fucking tense as hell. I stood up in disbelief at the end of the very last scene.

As with many shows 1st season was pretty good. I thought 2nd season was lame.

I just finished this and it was fucking great. Very creative show.

It definitely picked up the 2nd half and they put the hook in you at the end.
