Fall camp thread 2024

Was haarberg not one of the worst graded QB’s in the nation last year and had something like 16 turnovers in 8 games?

Am I crazy?
Nope, you aren't crazy at all. But your reading comprehension might be shit.

Maybe it will be easier for people to stop thinking of Haarberg's role as a QB and start thinking of him as the wildcat. If Raiola is healthy and Haarberg is in the game, he isn't a QB. So, if he is back there taking a snap, it's not to read the defense like a QB (what he was asked to do last year). He will be running the ball, à la Blake Bell 2012 or Tebow 2006. The other option is to put him at Hback and expose some matchups.

Think about it - Haarberg checks in as a Hback with Raiola still out there. Immediately the defense will likely be on their toes for some sort of trickery because our #2 QB just checked in. Even if Haarberg just comes in as a decoy, it could be effective.

Its been my experience that you want to bang as many chicks as possible who are that level of crazy.

What you're describing makes sense a couple of times a game. I think what people are bumping on is the idea of 10-15 plays. If he comes in for 2, sure. But he's not good enough to be on the field for 15 plays. Whatever position you want to put him on the field for, there are better options.

I mean, we appear to have signed every white TE in the country. The odds say a handful of them have to be better at their chosen position than this guy.

If you think about the teams that believe they have a legitimate shot at getting to 9 wins in the B1G, it's hard to picture any of them making room for HH for 10 plays a game outside of Cockeye, and that road leads to madness.

People’s fascination with harping on HH is phenomenal. He’s just an athletic kid who knows how to play QB. Not a great passer, but he does bring some decent skills to the table.

So honestly, is it a surprise they’re going to play the QB2 a little in different roles for this offense?

I think any team in America would love to have a versatile guy like HH on the team…

the other thought is to just play our normal skill players at their instructed positions.

HH can be right clipboard

Sure. And that's not a terrible idea. But we have seen a teams in the past use this strategy fairly effectively too.
