They don't touch Mickey - the media is incredibly supportive of Mickey. I watched the BTN live show after the NU-Indiana game and those pundits are all chairmen CEOs of the Mickey fan club.

It's actually nice to see Nebraska getting positive press and support in the media. So refreshing.

Wisconsin fired Chryst bc they know they can get Liepold & still keep Leonhard.
Liepold is one of the only guys around who’s shown he can win big with limitations in talent.
They wanted to put the full court press on before Nevraska does.
There is no reason to fire Chyrst in season if your master plan is to just promote the DC. Unless Nebraska was looking hard at Leonhard (doubtful). There are no currently open jobs that would be appealing for Leonhard to jump to & it’s not like his defense has been anything close to the typical Wisconsin level

He was just over .500 in the MAC. He was 2-10 last year, and has had 1 hot start in his P5 experience yet people say "We jumped for Frost because he had 1 good year" or "Mike Riley never won consistently at any major level" or comb through other candidates and they either haven't won enough or haven't won enough LONG enough to pass their criteria. Yet Leipold is top of their lists? I do not understand. Because KUs offense has looked good for the first time since Fat Mark? Fantastic. Do it longer than 1 year, right?
