EJ Barthel - Running Backs

During his time in Carolina, Barthel assisted specifically with coaching the running backs and offensive line, while spending time in the pro personnel department.
That is an interesting combo.

But looks like a guy with a lot of potential who got it done at lower levels.

Article from when he left Penn State:

"This is undoubtedly a tough blow for James Franklin and the Nittany Lions as Barthel is highly regarded in the recruiting world and has strong ties to the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas."
It is VERY refreshing that when we make a hire, there are articles talking about how missed they are at their previous employment vs. reading about why they chose to become a Vegan Banker, or that previous stops were glad to have him off their staff...

I posted this on Tater Island but I’ll post here as well since it’s worthwhile:

I am a UConn alumnus and thus watch every game.

What he did in this room this year is incredible. UConn at one point was down to their fourth and fifth string RBs because of injury and they still produced incredibly well. Took Robert Burns the Miami (FL) transfer and moved him to FB and did a spectacular job.

I would love if he can bring Victor Rosa with him. He’s Burkhead 2.0- CT HS player of the year in the class of 2022 and killed it as a freshman this year when he wasn’t supposed to even see the field.

I think this is a great get for us. Great recruiter too.
This is honestly a more incredible feat than suffering through the last however many years of Nebraska football

Next time skip posting it on 🥔 Island and just come straight here...

Only sort of kidding lol. But thank you for posting! I love insight like this!

Damn, this guy is a big downgrade from Bryan Applewhite. If Frost hired this guy last offseason there would have been riots.

Don’t worry though he’s bringing this 190 pound white running back with him to the Big Ten. 2 star recruit who ran for 500 yards against a fuckin FCS schedule this year. Ya’ll have lost your fucking marbles. Why do we do this every time.
