Based on the Scholarship Distribution Chart we have 68 athletes on scholarship. (It's my unofficial count) This includes the 4 known transfers:
Chief Borders
Corey Collier
Jeff Sims
Marco Ortiz
Going into ESD we have 19 known commitments. That puts us at 87 scholarships. Today we expect 2-4 more commitments from the group of:
Malachi Coleman
Eric Fields
Vincent Carroll-Jackson
Elijah Jeudy (transfer)<< EDIT: Deciding Saturday according to some
Wildcard: Beni Ngoyi
That would put us at a possible 91 scholarships, which means we will definitely need a pretty sizeable amount of further attrition to get to the 85 limit by next fall.
Attrition candidates:
Tyreke Johnson (5 star bench sitter)
At least 1-2 QBs (Smothers? HH? Purdy?)
Seth Malcom (anybody consider him a Big 10 player outside of Chins and Frost?)
Braxton Clark (injured, passed over, recruited over x4)
Noa Pola Gates (no impact)
Tommi Hill (lost both his supportive position coaches)
