Dogs

Love my dogs. My Golden ran in through the doggie door yesterday and was frantically pacing around while staring at me like he was doing something wrong. I go over and look and it looks like he must have swallowed some of his rope toy and had giant turd hanging off about a half foot of small rope coming out of his ass. He was so scared that he was gonna get in trouble...I had to pull the turd rope out of his butt while laughing hysterically. He was very confused and embarrassed. Love that dude.
Are you sure it wasn't yore AnAl beads?

Plans changed. The vet will be here for a house call in 20 minutes to put him to rest.
Jesus hell of a plan change. Sorry man. My first family dog passed when I was about 6 or 7. Don't have a ton of memories of him other than when he was older and had trouble getting around. The day my dad took him into get put to rest, I wanted to go with but was at a friend's house. He told me he'd wait until the next day to go with and say goodbye but took him in while I was at my friend's house down the street. I had no idea until I get home and dog wasn't there anymore. It was for the best I didn't understand what was going on at the time but still wish I could have said goodbye. I haven't had had to do it yet but my dad said it was the hardest thing he's ever done. I haven't had to do it yet but my lab is 9 now and showing a little age. Still a few years to go though hopefully. I try to love him as much as I can knowing it'll be here before I'm ready.

Dogs are magnificent creatures, and also seem to be incredible dipshits. The 15-30 seconds or so that they're able to associate cause and effect is maddening!

Two of my dogs get to run on a country road every night so they will be tired enough to leave me alone. Two to five miles, depending on the temperature outside. In the past week, they've killed two skunks which lead to me giving four baths. They hate baths, but it takes too long to get from the skunk spray to the bath for them to make the association. Allegedly.

It's also lead to me buying an ozone generator, and much consternation.

I moved here with them full-time a few days after Thanksgiving 2021. The kill count for these two is at least:

  • 4 Skunks
  • 1 Beaver
  • 3 Racoons
  • 1 Cat
  • 2 Kittens
  • 2 Cottontail rabbit
  • 1 jackrabbit
I love them and hate them, but not at the same time.

But at least you can fuck your wife.......wait a minute.....I'll be right back...."here Scooby"
